The Shoeshine Boy saga chronicles events in the life of a young kid growing up in Boston, Massachusetts. At age ten he's given an opportunity to shine shoes in a shine parlor deep within the Mob controlled section of Boston's notorious 'North End'.

The Shoeshine Boy story is about his beginning.

*FIVE STAR REVIEW* BROOKLYN ICE by Anthony Brewer is an exciting, breath-taking, fast pace novel to read. This book will have you on the edge of your seat waiting for the next piece of excitement. This book is definitely a page turner. BROOKLYN ICE is packed with plenty of action... Barbara Morgan
The author weaves a dynamic plot showing how one young womans life undergoes drastic changes with each situation she faces, much of which leads to more pain and heartbreak. The character, Angel Rene Walker, is unlike other people in the world. She can tell what lies ahead, all the drama, pain, heartache, and betrayal.
It all began on the first day of her senior year when her mothers life was taken in a car accident. Since then, her world has turned upside down. Angel finds herself in difficult situations, while her relationship with her father is at its breaking point. It seems that nothing can go right. She starts to give up on life, on everything. When she meets someone who makes her believe there is still a chance, she feels hopeful again. But like everything else in her life, will this love be destroyed?
Angel will be tested when a dark secret shocks her and she finds out that the one person she trusted most in the world was involved in the tragic accident that took her mother's life. Is she destined for a life of despair and betrayal? What's Next reveals all.
*FIVE STAR REVIEW* I recently read "What's Next," and I was amazed. I thought that this book would be a self-help book to help young people deal with the trials of growing up. But I was wrong. It was real talk from the beginning to the end. The young Angel Rene Walker goes through things that a lot of adults can't handle. She lives, learns and falls down. But most of all, she had to find a way out of the place where people hide to get away. I found that this book is inspirational and just what is needed in todays world for our young people, both guys and girls. Grief comes to us all, but not all of us make it through. The aspect I admire is how she maintains her social standing among her peers.

Eventually Nina feels betrayed, after a rush of slugs nearly claim her life. She goes on a manhunt tracking down Toast, revealing her own treacherous behavior to her inner circle. Toast must find ways to keep himself and his underlings safe from the most monstrous gang in the city. Plus the risk of death ten folds when Toast soldiers have a clash of ideas and a division of loyalty. Plunged into a world where HONOR and RESPECT is cut paper thin. Toast is not going to know who to trust.
Who will be left standing when the smoke clears at the end of this bloody tale of deception, betrayal and survival of the fittest?
